Stop The Rot publishes original work on media literacy, fact-checking, critical thinking, and non-partisan public life. We welcome new voices who can write clearly and back claims with checkable sources.
What to send
A short pitch (2–3 paragraphs) is enough to start. Finished drafts of roughly 400–1,000 words are also welcome. Use a clear structure, a professional but readable tone, and sources a general reader can check.
Topics we like
- How people are misled — and how to notice it
- Cognitive bias and better reasoning
- Case studies of viral claims
- Guides to tools and methods
- Explainers on policy and elections that do not pick a team
- Technology: feeds, synthetic media, platform design
Standards
- Original writing only
- Named, checkable sources
- No partisan score-settling dressed up as analysis
- We edit and fact-check before publication
What you get
A byline, a short author bio with a link you choose, and a place in a growing library of practical work.
How to submit
Email submissions@stop-the-rot.org with your pitch or draft, a 2–3 sentence bio, and optional links to prior work. We aim to reply in 5–7 business days.
Not sure? Send the pitch anyway. First-time writers with a sharp question and solid research are encouraged.
